TRUTH BOMB: Building a Business Isn’t Always Pretty — But it Can be Purposeful

ree

Let me keep it real. Entrepreneurship isn’t always easy. And it sure isn’t always pretty.

When I had my second child, I got kicked out of my office. (Literally. My beautiful daughter took it over lol and that is called life). So, I then built a cute workspace in the back area of my home...But somehow I always end up at the kitchen table, between business meetings, Zoom calls and cooking dinner. This is my real life. This is entrepreneurship.

Some days I’m leading meetings, coaching clients, building offers, and speaking life into businesses. Other days? I’ve got my hair in a clip, I’m deep in thought, juggling laundry, and talking myself through the busy day. But through it all — I get up, I dress for success, and I always show up. Because I’m passionate about what I do.

I’ve been doing this for 20 years — rebuilding, growing, pivoting, evolving, and mentoring along the way. And while I’m proud of how far I’ve come, I’m even more passionate about what I’m building next.

This isn’t about perfection. This is about purpose. This is about resilience. This is about showing up when no one’s clapping yet. If you’ve ever looked at me and seen a version of yourself — I want you to know this: You’re not behind. You’re not doing it wrong. You’re not the only one with a full life, a messy kitchen, and a to-do list that doesn’t quit.

You’re building something real. It might not be glamorous, but it’s yours. And that matters.

Some days are productive. Some days are powerful. Some days are beautifully average. And all of it counts. So here’s to the ones working from the kitchen table. The ones who dress for success even if they don’t leave the house. The ones who coach, mentor, lead, dream, clean, build, cry, stretch, and repeat.

You are not alone. You are doing amazing. And yes — this is what entrepreneurship looks like too. Keep showing up.
